what size power wire?

I installed just one amp for the sub with 8 gauge power wire. I am getting ready to add a second one to run my 6 3/4 speakers in the car. Both amps are Rockford Fosgates with one running 200 watts RMS x1 and the other running 50 watts RMS x4. Since this is only 400 watts RMS can I use the 8 gauge power wire to split into two 10 gauge wires at a distribution block? Or do I need to run 4 gauge back to them and split to 8 gauge? I have looked into this and got conflicting answers. Thanks.

if i as in that situation, i'd just go ahead and run 4 gauge wiring. that leaves more room for future system expansion (getting a bigger amp etc etc)

I am pretty sure that I will not be adding any more to the system after I get the second amp put in. I found a calculator on Crutchfield that said that I could just use the 8 gauge wire that I already ran to power both of these amps. But I found different answers at some other places too.
Does everyone on here use 4 gauge to power more than one amp? In the old days I just ran an extra wire if I wanted to add more amps but I plan to use a distribution block this time and do it right.
