Battery, Terminal, & Cable Qs

What are the advantages/uses of battery terminals as pictured in...

I am about to get an audio system consisting of... HU, speakers, and basslink, but I have seen some amp terminals or something... will I need anything like that with the basslink?

If not I would like to replace my terminals and cables, would THIS TERMINAL be sufficient to replace on negative? and or possitive? I noticed wires running from the possitive terminal? what are those?

thanks all

that one should be sufficient, assuming you are running 4ga from the battery for power-
Rule of thumb should be same size ground as power- many running thicker gauge power wires because of a large draw system, upgrade terminals because they can accept larger ga wire up to 0/1 ga for a direct/clean install

Ok first of all you have to understand that Electricity flows to the path of least resistance. The best way I can help you understand how that works is something I have been saying to people all my life.
"What would be easier for you to drink a thick shake through? A normal average sized soda straw or one of those little red coffee stir straws?"
hopefully that gives you some insight why bigger power cable is important.

As for those types of battery terminals. Not only do they make it easier to connect a wire that is thicker, but they usually are gold plated or have some kind of plating on them. This plating helps in a few ways, first of all it is more resistant to corrosion. Second it conducts electricity with a lower resistance then say a chunk of lead (factory batt terminal) will. Remember to goal is to produce low resistance to generate cleaner sound.

Sorry I'm not familiar with the Infinity basslink so I cannot help you there.
I hope my information was informitive & useful. Take care!!!
