amp stopped working
today as i was driving i noticed that my subs stopped working. i popped my trunk and investigated. i narrowed the problem down to the amp because my cap is getting power and so is the neon in my box. Plus my amp has built in gauges in the front and they stopped working. i checked the amp fuse and it is not blown. is there any way i can check the amp to see if its blown? the amp is made by volfenhag. its a 400.2 and its pushing 2 400rms audiobahn subs. i am 16 years old and i do not have access to many electrical measuring devices. thanks for your help.

get it bench tested at a audio shop, any decent shop has a tester. and volfenhag is not exactly great product, more then likely its done. try to save your money for something more reputable, youll save money in the end by buying better product.

Try and rule out the remote wire; run a wire from your + to remote (on your amp) to see whether the amp will power on or not. If it does, then for some reason there's a problem with your remote wire/head unit.......
Its a longshot, but worth a try.

How do you have the subs hooked up? I mean what ohm load is your amp seeing? Next, where is the amp mounted? Is it crammed between the seat and box or somewhere where it doesn't have room to breathe? The amp may have gotten hot and just shut down until it cooled. It may turn on next time you turn on the stereo.
