2K with bose improvement with $500
I have a 2K with the bose and am a bit disappointed in the system. There is enough bass for me (country and rock) but I am not happy with the sound quality. My main problems are with the rear rattles from the sub and also the terrible sounds from the tweeters when listening to FM radio or listening to a burnt CD. I would like to limit my expenditures (for now at least) to $500 and improve the quality and have XM. To start I want to dynamat the rear area to get rid of the Bass rattles, next get some cleaner highs.... I have heard that the front tweets CAN be swapped out b/c they run at 4ohm but that they are the only speakers that can be swapped with the bose amp... If this is true what is a good set to get? To clean up everything and get XM I was thinking I'd replace the HU... With the HU swap I was wondering if the linelevel wiring to the bose amp will take out the possibility of using the 4 channels that the HU comes with? If it doesn't take out the use of the 4 channels I'd also like to mount some 5.25's in the rear deck b/c the sub seems to drown out everything when in the back seat. I know this is a big ramble but I want to swap tweets, sound deaden the rear deck, install new HU and use the 2 rear HU channels to run 5.25's in the rear deck. Can any of this be done? And in the $500 range? Thanks
