I have read the FAQ section on a HU swap and am left with a couple of questions. Does the PAC kit include EVERYTHING- such as all the leads for the remote,power, etc. or just the line level conversion for the 4 channels on the new HU? Also does it include or even require an adapter for the FM antenna?
I will most likely be going with the alpine 9825 with XM and if not satisfied with clarity take the plunge into amps/components/subs. Does anyone have any opinions on this HU?
Last question is which adapter mount kit did you use and where did you get it? I have tried adapter kits in other vehicles in the past and found really crappy fits from some models. Thanks

 

things you will need is the pac-oem converter, metra wireing harness, and atenna connector. the pac-oem has all the stock leads and all you have to do is unclip the stock harness and connect the metra harness to the stock harness and just match up the colors of the pac-oem2 and from the pac-oem2 unit to the actual harness for the aftermarket hu.

 

You don't need a metra harness, the OEM harness plugs into the PAC harness and then you are left with the bare wire leads coming out of the other end of the PAC unit.

You just need the PAC unit and the antenna adaptor.
