seriously though, the rattle is most likely the childseat clips on top of the deck, check housecor's site for the fix to this problem....

sounds like your problem might be the fact that you are using that sub in a free-air setup. Im not too familiar with it, but if it is a free air sub and you are getting those noises, then make sure your trunk is completely sealed. also another problem might be, you are using a single 10" sub, and your entire trunk is your enlosure. your trunk is rather large, and that might be a little too much space for a sub like that. not sure if this helps at all, but im not familiar with that sub. post pics when you can

thats how it sounds with my 8 inch free air sub in the arm rest, the only reason it soundsl like that is because its not bolted down properly. if its not that put some kind of weather stripping tape around the speaker. thats likely where its comming from where the speaker and deck meet.

IMO, freeair is probably not the most efficient way to run a sub in any car. You can never fully seal the truck area because there's so many places where air can escape thru. Besides, the trunk isn't designed to be completely sealed. Hunting for every little nook and cranny for the sake of making it completely air tight would be a futile task let alone the amount of bondo and sound deadening material needed. It requires a very sturdy baffle, I'd use 1/2" MDF, you wouldn't want that baffle to flex at all because it will drastically affect your bass. You need to set and mount the sub on the baffle securely. Any little air leak around the baffle opening or any other areas in the trunk would result in that distorted sound you spoke off. Just my 02 cent.

I might add that trunk lids flex like crazy when bass hits. Imagine when a subwoofer inside the trunk hits and put your hand on that lid. Feel it flexing and vibrating? What about the rear quarter panels, they're all made of flimsy sheet metal! That is bad for subs in terms of sound because it needs a solid sturdy enclosure and thats why I said earlier that the trunk is not an ideal way to enclose a subwoofer. Sell the freeair sub and get yourself a JLAudio or Xtant subs + enclosure.
