Who likes sony?

I always thought of sony as the lower end in car audio but after comparing their stuff with other brands such as alpine, clarion, JL audio I am beginning to wonder! As far as HU's they have the 77005 that does MP3,XM and had a lower fm sensitivity then then apline and 120DB cd noise ratio! And there 10" sub can take 300wRMS, 88 on the sensitivity, and hits from 18-2500! Thats way better then JL on the sensitivity and frequency range. Also their 5.25s have a higher sensitivity and freq. range then many others and their basic amp will push 250x1rms at 4ohm for just over $100. What are yall's opinions? I am wondering if my focus on sensitivity(s) and frequency ranges is the wrong way to view HU's and speakers!

Yeah, my friend blew a pair of Sony subs in about 2 weeks...replaced them with Kicker comps and they're still running...that was about 6 years ago. On the other hand, the old Sony amps he had are still going strong.

The Head Units, Changers and the A/V Equipment are fine

wattage is not always the most important thing when it comes to subs, and JL heavily underrates their subs

I have a Sony Amp and love it

I purchased a Sony 4channel Explode amp last winter off Ebay for $90.00. I am running Infinity Kappa Components up front and Kappa 5.25's in the rear off the amp's front channel. I bridged the rear channel to power a single 10" sub in the trunk. I originally purchased this amp just to get my system up and running. I am very pleased with this amp and plan on keeping it untill it dies. Many of my "audiophile" friends are impressed with the sound of my system. By the way I am still using the stock 2k2 Non-Bose headunit.
