Opinions over MB Quarts?

I was at Tweeters looking at some 6.5s" and I gave these MB Quarts a listen. They sounded very nice (to me at least) and I was wondering how these will last in the long run. I've heard of them before, just never really messed with them. Any thoughts?

MBQs will last provided properly mped/tuned/etc. Personally their way too harsh for me. But what matters is if they sound good to You....

i have the premiums and love them. they are power hungry though. i like my highs, but for someone else it may be harsh. i buy mine at an authorized dealer for significantly ess than retail thouhg. jl amps and subs are nice, their speakers are ok.

I've got the comps running and they sound great. They do need a good amount of power so keep that in mind. Eash speaker company really sounds different. Like Bostons make some good speakers but they sound a bit "electric...too synthesized. JL's make some good speakers but their highs are waaaay more powerful than their mids or bass. MB's I think provide a good natural sound. But again...it doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks...pick the set that you think sounds good.

I've heard their whole lineup, and I cannot agree.....the are the most mecanical/harsh sounding of the German brands-

You want German, and you want Natural sound- take a listen to some Rainbows- night and day difference.....

I've never listened to Rainbows so you may be right. I think MB's are natural sounding compared with other speakers out there such as Boston, JL, JBL, and other well known brands.

Can't really go wrong with either the Reference or Premium convertible line. Give'm some power though and dial in the x-overs....shop around for the best price. There's tons of MBQ dealers all around Houston from what I understand.

well if i get them, i can push them with an old 2 channel RF 200 watt amp i have sitting in my room. price range...i don't want to spend THAT much for speakers, though anything would be an improvement over the 4x6's i have in the front now...so maybe somethin up to 200 bucks? i'm just waiting for the 6.5" speaker pods to arrive that i ordered from another member.
