Amp for Shiva

Hey, fellas!

I am thinking to add one Shiva to my bass setup. What do you think about feeding it with a Rockford Fosgate P3001. It gives out 150W RMS for 4ohm load, or 300W RMS for 2ohm. Shiva, as I understand, is about 2.9 ohms... So I guess P3001 is gonna push it with about 225W RMS of power. Is that enough for a Shiva to pump?

All opinions are greatly appreciated.

I am thinking about ported. Yes, you're right... I thought the impedance was less than 4 ohms...

150w/rms is enough for a ported setup You dont need tons of power to make subs slam

OK Shiva is dual 8 Ohm. You will have a 4 Ohm load if you wire the coils in parallel. 150W really won't get it to pound the way it deserves. You might be better served with something like the Image Dynamics IDQ series. 250-300W is what I would want to run a Shiva.
