I use to have the eclipse AV3423, I didn't like it. There's a lot more functions, as far as sound, on teh avic-n1. But I will only have it for a little while. I am goin to mold a monitor in my dash and put a dvd reciever in the shift bezel.

I am also very interested in the AVIC-N1 and had some questions. I asked the guy at Circuit city and they said it would be $40 to install each component (nav, DVD, etc.). I was wondering how the audio commands of the nav work. Do they play through the system or do you have to buy a separate speaker? Does the DVD run on the main screen while driving?

Edit: NM I just read a review on Crutchfield. I am going to get one. I just need to find the cheapest price and the cheapest place for an install. How much do you guys think it would run for an install of all the components, sans rear view camera?

Thats hardly acomparison for features as the AVIC has Navi and the 3423 does not. Compare the AVIC more fairly to the AVN.

You wouldnt even need that. I send everything needed to install it. I can even "prep" the unit for you if it helps. The only info I would need is if your car is Bose or nonBose. By your last post directing to that product I would assume you have Bose....

So are you selling them or are you selling one? I am not in the market currently, but I will certainly be around Christmas time!

Thanks, my uncle runs an audio shop, so he can probably install it for me. I'm going home for Christmas and maybe I can get it shipped there when I get it. So that cost is to my door and covers everything I need for the install (Nav antenna, all the wires, etc.)? I do have a Bose BTW.

Not a problem and yes that includes Everything needed. Although if your Uncle has a shop he should be able to have this unit as well...

Most likely, I will have to check with him next time I go home. However, I noticed both Best Buy and Circuit City don't have these products. Private local shops may, though I haven't checked.

They didn't have one in stock at my local one and they were too busy to even take care of me when I went. Besides, that price is no where near competetive.

Is this still an issue? Has anyone had this symptom?
