Sirius Satellite radio install?

Has anyone installed an antenna on the outside of their max for a sirius satellite radio?

We don't have sirius but my wife has XM. Basically its the same installation just different providers. XM seem to work great...just wish the factory Bose system was better. Sound from the rear speakers are terrible unless you turned the radio way up.

Don't put it outside. My Kenwood antenna (for Sirius) is on the rear deck. The reception is awesome! I ran the wire to the antenna through the subwoofer's whole on the rear deck (that's how it is on '00 SE). You should have 2 speakers on the rear deck... so you might use one of them.

got my roady 2 (xm) installed last month and the antenna was put on the rear of the roof, guessing the install options that are available for xm should be the same for sirius. Dont mind it on the roof since the antenna is so small.

If you have metallic tint, the antenna won't do so well installed on the rear deck.

I dont know why Sirius cant have small antennas and units like XM. The antenna in this pic looks like it really doesnt belong on that vehicle.

They do have the tiny ones. I've had that one for almost 2 years. All my hardware is 1st Gen.

The Sirius Mini antenna is mounted on the roof directly in the middle and as close to the glass as possible. You will get better reception outside, especially if you have tint. Some people are lucky that they live in areas with lots of repeaters and therefore get fine reception with the antenna in the car.
