gift for wife...sirius or xm??

Hey experts, I want to get Satellite radio for my wife for X-mas. Which do you guys feel is better Sirius or XM? I don't owe allegiance to any, but am currently leaning towards XM.

It depends on what you want most.

This might help:

What this link doesn't tell you is XM's playlist is deeper than Sirius' on most channels. Go to user forums for both services and read up on each.

My friend went to check out sirius and was turned off because it was so big (portable version). I have the a XM brain that plugs into my HU and I like that because of it's convience. My mom and dad have FM modulator versions and work equally as well and actually it's easier to go from channel to channel with the FM modulator than on my HU.

SIRI HAS BETTER CONTENT.

XM PLAYS B SIDES, NOT THE MOST POPULAR.

SIRI HAS NFL, NHL, NBA, STERN, FREE.

XM HAS MLB. PLBY & O&A, THEIR "PREMIUM" CONTENT YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR.

SIRI HAS TOO MANY PARTNERS TO LIST FOR TUNERS & PNP'S.

XM HAS A FEW TUNER AND ONE PNP, MADE BY DELHI. SOON TO HAVE ANOTHER MADE BY AUDIOVOXX

SIRI HAS A FREE TUNER , ALL YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IS THE SUB:

Remember the coupons Howard handed out??
Thay are available to anyone

Go to sirius.com
click "buy direct"
enter prom0 code 262
add the audiovox FREE radio to your cart
enter referral "start"
choose a free home or car kit
choose a 1 year sub.
the rest is self explanitory

I did it. Total was $172 for EVERYTHING
1 year sub, free radio and either car or home dock, activation & shipping

ONLY GOOD TILL 11/24

XM WELL, THE JURY IS STILL OUT.

P.S. SIRIUS WILL HAVE VIDEO MID YEAR 05'

XM WILL NOT HAVE THIS EITHER.

GL, HOPE THIS HELPS. SORRY FOR USING ALL CAPS.

satelitte radio

Personally I would go with SIRIUS. Both services offer music, weather, traffic, etc., however, here are a few things to consider.

1. With SIRI you get access to all of the music streams, and some others over the internet. You can log on anywhere and listen. With SIRIUS this is FREE. With XM, you pay about $3.99 a month EXTRA.

2. SIRIUS offers 24/7 customer service. XM offers limited customer service.

3. SIRIUS has more sports and talk streams. NFL, NBA, NHL, and the top 25 college teams.

Just a few resons, for you to consider. Enjoy the satellite radio.

I personally went for Sirius. But what you really have to consider is what kind of music your wife listens to most... Compare the channels from both providers... You can listen to hundreds of suggestions, but the final decision will be based on your preferences anyway. It's like buying a car... Everybody will tell you how nice some car is, but you simply don't feel comfortable driving it... that's all. Go on their web sites, listen to the free trials, and choose. Compare the channels and stuff like that. I wanted to stick with XM (because their plug'n'plays are smaller), but after I listened to trials, I realized that Sirius would suit me better.
BTW, Kenwood started to make a new nice pnp (not being sold yet, though, but promised before X-mas):

I hope it was helpfull.

Sirius all the way. I remember a year ago when everyone at work had XM and made fun of me for buying Sirius. Now that Howard Stern is gonna be on Sirius, most of them have switched. I've made over $2,000 in the past 3 weeks on their stock as well.

Most of these posters are correct, except for the first one that said xm. SIRIUS hands down is the way to go. They are moving forward in the right direction and their content is irreplacable. GET SIRIUS!!!!

Yeah, I'm kicking myself in the butt for not buying more. When I was in Pesacola, FL 2 weeks ago the stock fell to $3.81 and I told my wife that I should stick another couple thousand into it. Now it's getting close to $7 and again kicking myself for not buying. I just deposited another $2,000 into my trading account and plan to buy some more soon. I think it will decline a little over the holiday weekend as the daily/hourly it seems good news slows down a tad.

Sirius. The Live mixes can't be beat on XM. Try it before you buy it...go to sirius.com and take advantage of their Free 3-Day pass! I'm sure you'll be impressed.
