birthday money burning hole in pocket, help me decide
ok its my b day tommorow and i already got some money and will be getting a bit more. i already have 2 he 12's and an amp & box. i had this setup in my accord with aftermarket speakers in stock locations. well sold that and got a 95 max and now just have the subs and amp. i also have a pioneer hu on the way. my question is what kind of speakers should i get for the rest of the setup. i was thinkin of mb quarts up front and eclipse point source in the rear, both will be powered by an amp. any suggestions on this idea. will these speakers fit in the stock locations without any major modification to the doors or rear deck. what do ya think.

i also just checked on the point source speakers i was looking at the 6.5" for the rear deck and was told they wont fit, but i thought that is what we had in the rear deck of a 95. i was lookin at 6.5" all around but if anyone knows otherwise it would be of help

i'd like to keep it under a thousand but i really only need the speakers as an another amp is being given to me. along with the speakers i'll need all the wire(amp kit) splitters and rca's as well.

that sounds like a very good selection you have lined up.. should be a nice sounding car... but i would sugest getting mb quarts all around, or eclipse all around because every brand has its specific sound, and it would feel wierd if your speakers were producing different sounds...

the only reason i was gonna do the mb quarts up front and not the rear was because i dont know where to mount the tweeters in the rear. the eclipse are full range and i dont need to mount a tweeter anywhere. if i were gonna do that do you think the point source would sound equivalent to the quarts if i had em up fron?

well i can get a hookup on some rce mb quarts. i know there not top of the line ones but ive heard em and they sound good enough. you can get them on ebay for like 150 but the high end ones go for more. my buddy will be cutting me a deal on the rce's.

you know that there are coaxial mn quarts components made specifically for the rear?

I'm going to throw in a useless plug here....go see if the guys at Custom Sounds in Austin are still carrying MBQ's, they may be closing them out....or better yet look up Car Toys of Austin on William Cannon to see if they have the Reference Series. If you're down by Cedar Park then hit up Sound Creations. Kinda funny the connections you make when you attend the Texas Heat Wave show for a couple years. Video is nice, but aint sh*t w/o good sound.

MB's are great speakers to me cause that's what i have. $1000 is more than enough money for them, hell Q series don't cost that much. Dyn Audio makes excellent speakers both component and coax but that $1000 isn't nearly enough money for them. CDT's and Image Dynamics I have heard nothing but good things about. So the choice is yours to make depending upon how you want your car to sound. It's a good idea to run them with an amp (a good 4 channel would do the trick) for that premium sound quality. If you really want a good deal on speakers or any car audio ask the man himself, Don aka Pearl96Max, he'll take care of you.
