AMP Probs

Ok, got a BOSE headunit and am trying to hook an amp with 2 12" subs up. The remote wire and RCA wires are sliced into the rear speakers and the power and ground are both hooked properly. The subs hit, but defintely not as hard as they should. The exact same subs and amp were takin out of a friends car and they sounds nearly unbearably loud, but in the Max they hit , but defintely not as hard as they should.

Does anyone have ANY clue? I really need you help...

thats cuz its the bose unit... it sucks a$$. it has active equalization wich makes the sound very flat sounding. i have the same setup as u do. my system came out of my old car (thunderbird) and i have to say that it sounded a lot better in it then i does in my maxima. Try getting rid of the bose if u can thats what i did and im very happy without it. Also i have to say that you are right bout the bass just hitting hard. I still havent figured that one out, i have a good equailzer built in my headunit and i have the singal wires connected tothe rear speakers (line level or high level input however u want to call it) let me know what u figure out.

Just out of curiosity, what does that have to do with anything?

just sayin i did the same thing as you, potna! why you buggin gangsta?
j/k
if your subs don't hit hard enough, cut the ohms in half or wire them differently. turn the gain higher. buy a more powerful amp... mine hit real hard, in a ported box, with a 4ohm stable amp that only pushes 75wx2, but i wired it to 2ohm, and now i'm gettin about 200 per channel with no probs but i need a new one. also, your friends car might have different design that amplifies the bass more than your car does.

well would a bad ground connecting have anything to do with it... I thought my ground was fine, but I realized it wasn't until someone fixed for me.

dude, go with the line level inputs. hook them up to your rear speakers like you have the RCAs. I don't know if it's a good idea to hook RCAs up like that. Where do you have the remote line hooked up to? A bad ground would cause the subs to not hit properly, but i'm pretty sure it's how you have the inputs to the amp.

no, if you look on your amp, there is this white plug....get line level convertor from your local audio store and splice them bad boys in and plug it in.

Ok, I have the remote to the back speakers, the line level inputs to the back speakers, and the power& ground running to their places. The bass IS hitting, but not nearly where it should be.

So i need soemthing else? i found this PAC AOEM-NIS2 . What does this do and do i need it?

like tommy said, its just the fact the if your not into aftermarket audio, BOSE is great becaseu is a quality system that can come factory installed with the car. on other hand, its a pain in a hole to do anything with it, considering everythign is individually amped...

hey man u can always just run a line out converter from your headunit like i did and then that gives you your rca out and u can run everything from there -i have great sound and there is no need for splicing -its really easy and everything still looks totally stock
