I have a Hifonics Zeus Z440 4 channel amp. It runs about 55 watts by 4 @ 4 ohms and 110 watts by 4 @ 2 ohms. Right now i am runnning mb quart components in the front and stock speakers in the back. But, I dont think that they are loud enough. I would think that this amp and the speakers would make it loud inside, but it isnt. Right now, it is running @ 4 ohms. How do you get the amp running on 2 ohms? @ohms means more power right? This setup is just for my highs. Thanks to anyone who could help me out...

You can't just make an amp run at 2 ohms. It's all about the load on each channel. Which model of MB Quarts do you have? See if you can get the Competition xovers for them and then bi-amp the tweeter and mid to get a 2-ohm load per channel.

One way to get a 2 Ohm load is to increase the number of speakers on each channel of the amplifier. 2 4 Ohm speakers in parallel equal a 2 Ohm load. So if you added more speakers that are the same load you would decrease your ohm load per channel and make the amp produce more power. Though that power will still be divided by the number of speakers you have on each channel so each oen would still get 55Wrms.

The other way is to biamp your components as Micah95GLE suggests.

There is no other magical way to get your amp down to 2 Ohms stereo.
