I have been thinking about getting a 5 channel amp to replace all my amps. I currently have 3 MTX amps to power my entire system. I have found a soundstream rubicon 805 for under $600 and I am wanting to hear your all's opinions. Anyone with any experience with this amp? I will using to to power JL XR components up front, JL TR components in the rear's and JL 10W3 D4's for the subs. I like the fact that it is 1 ohm stable in the sub channel which will power my tens perfect, but i questioned the sound quality.

I had the mtx 5 channel for awhile but didn't like it. It sounded great but didn't produce enough power to the subs. It also got hot enough to heat NYC for a year. I touched the damn thing once and got a blister from it. Is this soundstream gonna do the same with the 1 ohm config?

Thanks for any input!

I heard that the reference series are notorious for this but the Rubicon's had been redesigned to take care of that problem.
