Alpine Type X
well you should get yourself a nice 1000watt rms or somewhere close to 1000watt rms amp. kicker amps are fawken powerhouses but the prices are kinda high. if not i gues you could get some hifonics thedus 1500 watts amps.

yo yo dawg i got 18 funky pups in a wall custom ported to 96hz! all powered my by 15 rockwood amps! jk, anyway id get an amp that puts out around 500-700 watts rms at the proper ohm and put it in a nice ported box tuned to about 28hz... not quite funky pups but it'll do.
im with slick...that sub has been frying becuase people are idiots and give it 1000 watts and never break their subs in, people think oh its just the RMS what can happen. No one really things how much power 1000watts is. give that sub 500-700 in either a ported or a sealed and u will be very happy

so then what amp should i get..can you give me an example?
and do u mean 500-700 RMS or watts?
i mean RMS....umm an awsome possibility would be the jl 500.1...it puts out 500rms and its an AWSOME! amp. Though the price is reflective of the quality your getting. I belive alpine also has a v12 mono amp that puts down those numbers
Id go with an Alpine MRD-M1001 or JL 1000/1. Yes people dont break in their subs and are dumbasses, and yes enclosures make a huge difference, but better to have a bigger amp and lower gains then a small amp with higher gains IMO.
