can someone give me dimensions for a good ported box...I decided to build my own. does the shape of the box matter? Everyone seems to go with the 3/4" MDF what if you go thicker, is that ultimately better? Is it a good idea to insulate the box from the inside out with dynamat?

Considering that I'm getting the Autotek SX-1200X which is:
600 Watts X 1 Channel @ 4 Ohms
700 Watts X 1 Channel @ 2 Ohms
1200 Watts X 1 Channel @ 1 Ohm

I need the box to be able to reach up to around 80hz-50hz, and still have somewhat of a good low end.

Also explain how to tune the ports on the box and where are the best locations to put them in.

can I mount the subs in a upside down and cut a port from the box into the rear shelf of the max (thats just some crazy idea)?
