In a 4th gen there is a big grommet in the driver side fender. Look in there.

I just ran my last week. There is a rubber grommet behind the driver side wheel well cover. There are about 3 or 4 screws that you will have to remove. Once you bend the cover back, you should see the grommet. You will need something sharp to poke a hole through it. Also, you will have to jack the car up and take the wheel off to make it easier.

with 5spd cars the area where the clutch master cylinder is would be where you could easily drill and feed a wire through

-but im 95% sure there are still grommets around...look for where your throttle cable goes through,or where your hood latch release goes through

i ran my amp wire under the molding for the driver door and then under the fender into the engine bay then i ran it under the kickplate into the back to the amp. it's been working fine for the last year and a half.
like this:

I did the same thing as wadamax. Once you get through the firewall though, its a pain in the a$$ to pull the wire out under the dash. you can do it though

no, that was my main concern. there is about 3/4 of an inch of clearance between the fender and car body. with the door closed i can still get slack from the wire.

drill a hole. thats what i did. well i was tired, cold, and the getting late. drilled a hole and be sure you use your own grommet so the firewall doesnt cut the power line.
