well basically the more air you move the better, it also depends on the speakers. 2 10s is punchy but one 12 has nice low frequencies. i currently have one 12 and it sounds good.

you checked out the brahma man? that sub is awesome i would get that or a xxx. or you could go mainstream but these smaller dealers are good. arc audio also has nice subs. what are you looking for though? raw bass or sound quality?

you don't need to amp it that much to get it loud. it also depends on enclosure size.

lol

why do you want the type x so badly? is it because of the brand? if you really want it go ahead its your system not ours. 500watts on any speaker is crazy loud. btw is this your first system?

cross out the alpine type x for now, jls are good but kind of overated[well for the price]. get a nice adire brahma with a a hifonics brutus. this is 1000watts at 2ohms and 1500watts at 1 ohm for under 300. its kinda hard to give you exactly what you want since your system is so broad. but do some research and tell us what you come up with.

Take a look at the MTX Sledge Hammers. I have the 7500 12" and it kicks rocks.

I got mine online at eBay for $125 for 1.

dont even thin about peak power. any good quality product doesnt mention it. rms power is constant power. www.edesignaudio.com for the amp. i have a jbl600.1 and 2 adire audio shivas. might be selling the setup... car audio is addicting!

how much does your setup weigh now? shouldn't be too far off from a b15 + box right?

well i wont include the amps... plywood under carpet=15 lbs maybe? subs are 13 each. box is about 40. but my PLAN was to make a sealed box for my shivas out of birch which would im guessing weigh about 20lbs total... nice weight savings. but with this brahma calling... now i dunno. i wish i heard a brahma 15 ported to know exactly what it will sound like.

blown. i wouldnt throw more than around 300 watts to a shiva. 300 watts and a 2.5cuft ported box should be decent.

awesome imo. 2 shivas getting 250 each in 2.8-3 cubes sealed total will be perfect.

yeah i know.. i think hes been busy. i used to talk to him about his brahma all the time. he broke his clear corners on 425 watts...sick. well honestly, i try not to say how loud a setup will sound because, 1: i dont know for sure, based on install and stuff, and 2: because to some people.. loud is 1 10" with 200 watts sealed and to others (me) loud is when your rearview is useless at half volume.
