hell yeah, read my post ("This has been talked to death but...").
On the adire web page right where it gives you the power rating, it also say
"This is just a thermal rating, full output can be reached with significantly less power."

Get the brahma and get a ported box like 1.5'^3, or a sealed box about 2.1'^3 this way you get full output with around 500wRms. (well actually you'd have to double check the exact dimensions with someone that knows more about boxes, but you get the idea)

Slick...you think you can help me with my post?

Actually, I'd have to say no. You can go down and get a Memphis 500/1D amp for around $450, and a Memphis M-Class sub 10" for $120 ea and still get the same amount of bass as that JL will put out. Plus with the extra money from the sub you can probably get 2 in a vented Memphis box for still less than that sub would cost.

You can get a used JL 500/1 for $300. Save you some money if you go used.

Back away from the JL 500/1. Check out their input sensitivity ratings. The thing makes full power with hardly any input voltage. It appears this amplifier was only designed to dominate the sound display board. I would look for an amp that has more headroom than the 500/1

did you notice they are back ordered??? id pick the sub based on the amp and what size type box you want. if you want more spl go with the 12 ported. im kind of curious as to how 1 10" brahma ported is.

Definately agreeing with this, dont get an amp that will fit your sub. First pick the amp, THEN the sub. This is why different impedance levels are available.

And yes theres a ton more amps available that are ALOT better than the overpriced and overmarketed JL,Alpine, etc
