Subwoofer cuts in & out
i recently added an amp & sub to my factory bose using the pac nis2 adapter to run the rca's back from the HU. All the wires are secure, and the amp turns on right. THe subwoofer seems to cut in & out Sometimes, I think the wire from the amp to the sub might be bad (replacing it this weekend) any other ideas as to what might be the problem???

Make sure that you are not running your amplifier at a lower impedance than it is desingned for. Also check your gains, if set incorreclty your amp may be heating up and shutting down (this can also happen if there is not enought ventilation around it). That is all that comes to mind at the moment.

check the wire on the voice coil, my friend had a problem like that on his JL and it was because the wire was frayed and not making a good connection. also check your ground. good luck.

i had the same setup for a while, (sub hooked up to amp to factory bose with a swicth to flip on and off) WOW what a waste of money go out and get yourself a h.u is my recomendation, mine cut in and out it just doesnt work(that setup) i just recently got an alpine CDM9821- i love it and it brings my bose speakers to life...but in regards to your question...my setup was hooked up right everything was how it should be but it still cut out???
