ipod mount - pics
I've been following a lot of the ipod threads in here and got a few ideas from what other people have created. Unfortunately, until the the problems with the aux-niss and ipod2car are figured out, I'm stuck with the tape deck mount.
Here's the overall creation:
I mounted another cigarette lighter underneath the stereo on the floor and used the wires from the regular external cigarette lighter to power it. I have the Belkin ipod adapter atached to that with the mini of the cassette plugged in down there. (I wish I took pictures while everything was still apart). I took the idea from GaMax97GLE's old post of running the wires through the ashtray which involved cutting extra holes in the all the pieces of the ashtray.
From there I have a homemade mount cut to tightly fit the ipod in the top, a slot cut in the bottom for the adapter, and an extra piece attached to wedge into the slot of the tape deck.
.
I'm pretty happy with the whole setup because I hid most of the wires involved with hooking the ipod up. I'd like to find a way to move all the wires out from in front of the controls, but thats going to take a lot more time and effort.
