The information from the MP3's such as song title and such will not show up on your head unit's display, but you could get the sound from the MP3 player to come through it. I have an Alpine CDA-7998 and I am very happy with it. It is able to plays MP3's. The newer Alpine units also play WMA's and if you had an Ipod they can also control it and show the information from the Ipod on the HU's screen. I plan on going this route on my next vehicle.

depends on what you want. kenwoods have fast mp3 reading but i find their reliability to be quite poor. pioneer seems to be the most user friendly while being rock solid. the alpine allows for more fine tuning, and eclipse....well the new ones are ugly the old ones are alright but you have to spend a lot not to have a pass thru (if that matters to you). blah blah blah blah blah i'm stupid
