Firewall on a 6th Gen Maxima

Has anyone run a 8 gauge or lower power wire through the firewall of a 6th gen max? If so, did you need to drill a hole or is there an opening somewhere in the firewall for the wire to go through?

Thanks.

If you have an automatic, then look where the clutch plate would be if it were a stick shift, sometimes the firewall will have a bulge or indent or some way for you to tell that it is the right spot, where the clutch would have gone through the firewall. Anyway, thats always a safe place to drill. I havent worked on one personally so Im not sure if there is a factory grommet to use, but since it is only 8 gauge...if you see a grommet you should be able to fit it through.
