2001 question from a Noob

Sorry for the below questions, but I just got a 2001 SE and I love it. I searched the FAQ for these basic questions but couldnt find 'em. A little love please.....

1. How do I know if I have a Bose system or not? Judging by the sound of it, I would think/hope not.

2. How many, locations of, and size of existing speakers? 4? 6? one on each door and then two on the back deck?

I was thinking of replacing all the speakers as the OEMS are still probably in there. MAYBE adding an amp..nothing crazy. I'd like to keep the head unit.

Thoughts? or anything else I should know? Is there any site where I can enter the VIN # and get what is exactly on the car? I have no manual--nothing.

Thanks in advance...

Bones

The Bose system will have 7 speakers. There are separate tweets in the A-pillars. One speaker in each front door. One speaker in each rear door. One sub in the rear deck. In addition to saying Bose on the tape deck door, it will also say Bose on the grill for the sub in the rear deck.

You can go to Crutchfield.com to get the sizes of the replacement speakers.

What djfrestyl said. The door speakers are all 6.5" regardless of what others say. Some argue that 6.5" don't fit, yet I have seen in my own eyes 6.5" speakers installed in all doors.
