Solo Bariq L7 question

I have had a Solo Bariq 12" L7 sitting in my room for awhile, and was wondering....
1. How good is this sub?
2. What would be the best amp for it with out going over $300.
3. Would it sound bad if I kept my stock bose system?
4.
Whats the recommeded box size (ported)?
Sorry if this is a newbie question but I barely know anything on audio. Thanks for any help.

i had one 12" l7, hit hard as hell and sounded clear. And it should sound the same onyour bose as it would on a headunit.

What kind of amp did you have? And was your box ported?

hm is it the 04? or older...

sorry maxspeed, these aren't the clearest but i do admit they can sound good and YES they get loud as f*ck.

for my 10" L5's i went with the kicker recommendations....1.75 cu ft but i lowered the tuning to 34hz. kicker says for a similar sounding setup like mine to do 2.5cu ft for a 12"...i personally think you can do anything from 1.75~2.5, 2.5 is on the big end but it'll get you the nice deep sound that a 1.75 probably couldnt regardless of tuning. and you're confused by the jargon, i'm telling you to port it lol

^^ no step by step but they give you box plans...thats pretty much a step by step. i prefer an L port though, their setup doesnt give you the most efficient use of trunk space..

yea, you could maybe go w/ a hifonics or a planet audio. I believe they are pretty cheap.

that's 1kw rms @ 2ohm right? that'd be perfect for a 15 L7 imo...or 2 10" L5's...a bit much for a 12 L5 or L7

i had 10" L7, it pounded hard. Just search ebay and you'll find an Amp for a good price to push it. I bought a Rockford Fosgate X5 amp for only $140. and my L7 used to pound the hell out of my old 240.
