Ground cable lengths. Need help please!!!

I want to use a distribution block to distribute my ground wires. I am hooking up two 8 gauge wires from my amps to the block and a 4 gauge connected to a ground terminal. What is the maximum suggested length for each wire?
(e.g. 4 gauge: ?in. 8 gauge: ?in.)

You are using 2 power cables for the amp?

Why even use a distirbution block? Unless its for cosmetics its really not needed. Like posted above...as short as possible without major tension.

So a ground distribution block would only weaken my performance?

why not just bolt all the grounds to a common grounding point? there will be less resistance that way than going through a distibution block.

It wouldnt weaken or strengthen it, Don was just saying why waste your money because it will be the same either way, whether you use one or not.

Exactly All grounds can just go to the same point...

Last note to you is the shorter the less ground noise and keep it away from RCA cables.

rcas is audio signals and ground and power are ac siganls. there will be no noises if ran together

Yes you will produce noise if wires cross. Physics 101.....What happens if electrons cross a magnetic field @ 90 degrees == voltage. How is magnetic field produced..= flow of electrons.
so now how do you pick up radio waves in your car driving? Metal rod sticking up from your hood on your car crossing radio waves in the air. Please take it from me A MRI Technologist that knows what and/or is noise. So don't cross wires ......peace...

OK then heres basic common sense 101...

Battery is grounded to chassis, battery goes to amp power, ground from amp to chassis. What do these all have in common? ALL GROUNDED. The chassis is a ground, regardless where you run RCAs it still runs with the power source. Running signal and power paths seperately is very old MYTH. Nothing more.

Yes I know things are grounded Noise has nothing to do w/grounding. The Common Sense is when any time a flow a voltage crosses w/other voltage it will change the magnectic dipoles of an electron regradless if it's just signal or ac power. It has nothing to do with all being grounded. All grounding does it redirects electrons so you will not get jolted. All electrons need a path to flow.

FOOL.....you cannot get noise from a DC power system crossing AC signals. thats from Electromagnetics which im sure you would have had in your school.
and that is not the reason for radio reception. the only thing a moving car antanna would do might be a doppler shift of the frequencies but the car is much too slow for that. what are you smoking man? so tell me where you describe noise in ur post? as an electrical engineer, i dont see it =)

excuse me, but you are full of BULL**** info. sounds like you never took a physics class before. you obviously don't know what "ground" means, and im not about to explain it to you. since when does voltage flow? electrons don't have poles either. noise is the introduction of unwanted AC voltage on your AC signal. DC cannot cause this. if y ou want to be technical, the whole chassis of a vehicle would then be a huge antenna for noise if you were correct, which you aren't. sounds like someone better hit the books some more =)

Fool... now thats funny...What do you think Electromagnetics is. A change in any voltage will produce a change of electrons from positve to negative. Just because your not able to hear noise that does not mean its' not there. Now if you amp that up then you will hear it. All noise is a change of electrons from + to -. So Next.

lmao, don are you reading this? so now we are discussing electrons and positrons? lol since when did positrons come into play? not only do you perform MRI's, but you're also a particle physicist as well? you just made yourself look even more dumb than you first appeared. you still haven't the slightest idea what noise is man. noise is the superposition of an unwanted ac signal onto any other signal. the discussion will end here. please stop making yourself look stupid.

You're not going to have all the fun eh ? Best part of all those technical posts (some are way over my head ) is that I pick up a few things here and there that I didn't know before
