well, i finally started on the dynamat project today. barely finished just the driver side door. took about three hours! what can u expect imma . it was a truly difficult task. I guess it took longer cuz i didnt really planned out the sheets. stupid mistake. i jus slapped them on. the most difficult thing i had to do was poke out the holes for the cables and screws. I looked on the Dynamat gallery on their website and looked at the installs. they look clean, no cables showing whatsoever. of course it was professionally installed, however i couldnt see any possible way of hiding the cables inside the door of my car. i drive a 99 maxima and the way they arranged it, they had the cables attached to wire ties that screws onto the metal. also the door handle and lock was attached to two bars that go into the door. im not really good at describing it nor do i know the technical terms. those of you who have a 99 maxima and have done installs should know what im talkin bout. so i had to cut holes and loom them thru. it looks easier on other cars and not as complicated. hopefully i will finish the other door on thursday and finish the rear doors and trunk this week. the rear doors and trunk shouldnt be as hard as the front doors because there isnt as many controls and cables and no speaker holes to cut out other than the rear deck. hopefully. wish me luck.

Are you SERIOUS?! That stuff is a gigantic ripoff. Sure it does the job, but rammat or edead will do the job just as well at a meager $1/sqft. Sorry, but dynamat is used by one of two people: (1) The rich OR (2) The highly uneducated. Sorry!

Second skin has the widest array of different products. Ant actually designs the stuff, he doesnt buy it and resell it like some other sites. His stuff has the highest tolerances and absolutely no smell.
Dynamat extreme is an amazing product, but because of the rediculous price i'd never do it. I do however use dynamat dynaxorb behind my mids. Its their version of a deflex pad.

call me ignorant- but i've really only heard of dynamat. and to tell you the truth, the cars i've helped install it on, i was not impressed. so i've never spent my money on a stupid gimmick. but some of this stuff sounds like it actually works- im sure it costs an arm and a leg though

the only reason i did not purchase SS products was because Ant, their "rep"/seller/moron made a huge mess over at SIN and another forum i believe making fun of a highly respected newly deceased man from the forum and making fun of the sites owner. he has changed his ways though. but i cant talk... i used edead v3.

My wifes doors..
My doors, more has been added since these pics..
I honestly prefer Cascade over all others mentioned. Theyve been around Alot longer than any of the competition and still do Home Theatre systems,Police stations,Concert halls,Opera houses, mixing studios,etc..They still remain the leader in that residential, commercial industry.
Secondly would be Stinger Expert, followed by SecondSkin. Although SecondSkin is a far greater product than most, Ive had some issues with my dealer status account without going into great detail.

honestly, dynamat extreme, though way way way overpriced works well..but I would definatly give it up to Edead, and secondskin. Its just that dynamat extreme is at a huge discount to me..so yeah...hahah.

I have only used the Stinger Roadkill Expert. Kevin and I did almost the entire cabin minus the doors last night. 6 bulk packs will be in hopefully by tonight. This stuff has made a HUGE difference in reducing road noise. Currently I have no sound though. That I hope to be back in by tonight as well.
Hugemogoloidal Thank You to kpr10is for all his help. I couldn't get this done on my crazy deadline w/o your help.
I should get plenty of time to realize the results on my trip today as I haven't put sound back in yet. I wish I would have Db metered the car before and after, but oh well.
Pics as soon as we can.

Phweeew. Kevin finished up my car @ 5:?? AM. We installed 192sq ft of the Expert Stinger Roadkill. A total of 40 hrs was put in on this project, 20 by Kevin and 20 by me. Can't say Thank You enough Kevin. New amp rack in the works as well as new 0ga wiring and power distribution. I miss my subs already. Since we hijacked this thread, I will make up a new one as soon as I get the pics hosted. I think a work in progress thread is applicable now.

I agree Cascade is where it's at. It's worked well for others cars I've installed it in and is comparably way cheaper than Dynamat (check out Cardomain for instance). I've got a trunk kit I'm putting in soon, I'll post pics when it's done.
Plus the company is local to me and I'm in to keeping my money local if at all possible.
