AAAAH CRAP! eclipse amp turned off suddenly need help!
ok so my rca from the hu does not work, i switched it with some old ones i had and plugged it in the rca inputs for the eclipse amps and it didnt play, so i was like fawk it. so i just plugged in back the original rcas that belong to the eclipse amp from my hi low adpater, so it started play then the light cut off. im like wtf!! my alpine amp is still on but this one is not on at all. the fuses are good and all wires look good. think the rca wire from hu messed it up? is it possible to blow an amp even though all the fuses are good? dam man i do one thing someting else fawks up.
dam it seems it was the fuse holder, my dealer gave me a new one when i bought the sub and box, i mean the amps used to cut off, not really cut off it would be on but they wouldnt play unless i shook the power wire from the battery then it plays again. i was just scared because the alpine amp was on and the clipse was off, but i guess the alpine still had power left from the cap. neways im happy i found the problem. thanks neways fosgate
If you have one thick gauge (usually 4) power wire from the battery to where your amps are, then power should be divided thru a distribution block divided by individual fuses (hope that's how you hooked it up). You said the Alpine is working so that rules out your power wire up to the amps. A few things you can check, you said you checked the fuse holder and fuse. Heres more to check: ground (on the Eclipse amp), remote turn on lead (going to the Eclipse amp). Since you do a lot of audio wiring it would be a good idea to buy one of those light testers from your local auto supply, they're less than $5 or $10. This takes all the guess work away and you can surely test for power at any point in your install. BTW, what's the hi/low adapter for? I thought you have an aftermarket HU?
yes i have distribution block for the eclipse amp and to the cap to my alpine amp. the reason i use the hi low is because it was there before i had my alpine hu. and when i bought my alpine hu i didnt really look at the fact that there was only one rca output, plus my previous amp had a splitter on it so i had basically 3 rca outputs even though i had one rca output from the hu. so the rca from the hu is for the sub control.
lol i know its ghetto im powering the interiors with the interiros
