Installing a stereo in a 5th Gen

Guys,

Anybody have instructions on how to safely pull the dash apart to install a head unit in a 5th Gen? I'm planning to install a equalizer, two amps, a subwoofer, etc in it as well (basically everything that was in my 3rd Gen). I have all the RCA cables, power wires, distro block, etc., but I want to do this myself.

Any guidance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Excellent! Thank you very much! I'm assuming these instructions will work for the non-Bose stereo as well.

How about removing the center armrest console & the back seat? I've gotta run my RCA cables up the middle of the car, so I'll need some instruction on that as well...

Thanks much!

just curious, why don't you want to run the wire down the driver side or passenger side? seems like less work than removing the center console.

^ Have to agree with him, when I was installing my amp I had no idea where and how I would run my power/rca wires from HU and someone here mentioned running through the driver/passenger sides door sill's or something like that, its easy to do and very conviniet. BTW removing the back seat isn't so hard I have 2k3 and it has anchors/hooks that you'll have to pull out and remove your back seat if I'm not mistaken.

Only have a 10 foot RCA? Only reason I can think of.

I'm trying to avoid noise by running the wires on the same side as the power wires or the speaker wires. I have plenty of RCA wire (~20') to run, so I guess I could run it down the passenger side of the car, then run the power wire down the driver's side of the car. I guess it wouldn't hurt to run the RCA cables and the speaker wires down the passenger side of the car...

I appreciate the advice & questions... Any other suggestions?

actually it's a old myth that by running RCA's and power wires together will induce noise into the system. i don't know details, but i'm sure don or friendhasmax can give an input in this area.

Run the power wire down one side of the car and run the RCAs down the other side.
