alright some how my alpine hu rca preoutputs dont work. i have the very basic cdma9821. i bought it awhile back becasue i was on a budget.
option 1] send it back to alpine and pay 10 for shipping but who knows how long that will take
2] my dealer says i have a high end system and that i should get a much better alpine hu with 3 4 volt preouputs, mp3 xm and all that bs. it was originally 220 but she said since its the old model and new ones are comming in shell give it to me for 170.
now my friend says hell give me a 100 for my hu since he just needs something for his interiors.
should i send it back? or get a new one? i have about 30 saved up so ill need about 20 which i should get my paycheck by friday.

If you do decide to get a new HU. Make sure to get one that plays mp3s. I am soo glad mine does. It was worth the extra money I paid originally. But, my HU is a pioneer, man I really miss my Alpine, it was soo nice.

damn, we sell the 9821 for 139 brand new at CC, Id say you got ripped if you paid 220, even if you got it when it first came out. And in turn you are ripping off a friend if he is buying it for 100...Id only do that if its not a close friend, but otherwise oh well his fault lol. But on topic, Id get a new head unit...more voltage, in turn more power to the Type R. +1 on getting an mp3 deck.

hey rich how im i heartless? it's my boy he lves on my block and for the past months i have been helping him with his eclipse motorswap,me and my boy took out his turbo downpipe intake manifold block alt, ac compressor etc. i also helped him with other bs on his car. he was the one i took the eclipse amp for for 40 dollars, and distribution block.
but if he doesnt want to run a sub he knows alpine is good and he justs wants some music for the interiors.
put it this way....he woulda done the same for me
but the new alpine hu im getting is real nice!

ive tried 3 different rca wires on my hu, none of them work, this is what im thinking, i dont know if Rich remembers but my friend had an mtx sub and amp and he wanted to test it out in my car about a month ago.[this is when i had no sub amp just wires taped up] by accident the power wire touched the ground wire when the ground was screwed into the amp. now the amp came on but there was no sound, so i thought his amp was bad... so im thinking since i powered the ground wire there was a shock where the rcas were attached on the amp arleady causing the rcas to fuse out?
