do i need to buy a battery for just my subs?? it seems to be straining my alternator quite a bit right now and i was wondering if a batter would make it better

I can't imagine subs pulling that much from your battery. Are you running an amp or just the subs?

just replace your current battery with a yellow top and you should be ok- no dimming - that's what i did for my system - i have about 1000watts so im running 4 ga cable from the amp to the yellow top optima battery - size is 34/78 series yellow top - good luck

yea i have 2 10 punch stage 2's on a 500 watt fosgate amp, bad dimming and not to mention that when i'm stopped and start to take off with the stereo blaring, i have to basically floor it cause my rpms are really low because of the stereo, how much does a yellow top optima cost?? isn't it like 150?

Have your alternator checked.

yea thats what i'm thinking, cause its nver been replaced, and its got 187k on the motor, if i turn my stereo way up it stutters during acceleration, it tends to cut off (the subs) which i think is due to starving the alternator
