Ok well this is the second one ive blown., I blew out the first one a few weeks ago and then the second one went out yesterday. basically its the cone.. the cone is glued to the rubber outer part.. and well it came lose.. I can stick my finger in there.. Now it makes this wierd annoying rattling banging sound. Im done with audiobahn.. these subs should be able to handle my 2 JBL 1200.1 amps.. they are even not all the way up. Is there any way i can fix these and resell? Also, do you think my cd skipping could do this to my subwoofers? Thanks! -tmoney

bought them off of ebay wholesale. Audiobahn has a strict warranty policy.. if not sold by authorized retailer.. your Fuked

Get some kind of strong glue and gleu them back together, sell them for cheap locally.

just glue it, the same thing happened to my crappy audioban sub. i gave it to my bro a few months ago and so far so good, but stay away audioban, they should be banned.

ya i used to like audiobahn before too but then my friend who owns his own shop
showed me that if push the speaker in toward the magnet and let it go it crackles
which means that really sucks and won't last long. after that went toward pioneer premiers and havn't been hapier with any other subs.

well... they do suck, but I wouldnt advise listening to everything that friend has got to say.

so I'm glad to see that your many many years with dealing with different subs has paid off in your particular choice in loudspeakers. pioneer rules.

1.. don't buy crap off ebay if you ever expect to need a warranty.
speaker wire is one thing, speakers and amps are another.

2. audiobahn is CRAP. you've obviously learned your lesson by now.

3. glue the surrounds back on and keep going. when they blow again, go to #4.

4. buy a good sub. stay away from fleabay crap and anything you can get at a big box store.. it's all underbuilt crapola designed for the highest profit margin. spend a few more bucks at a local audio shop that sells quality products.

I hate to be lone person with an opposing opinion...

Audiobahn is not the most expensive and best brand out there, but I think everyone here is allowing their "impression" of a certain brand name to influence their opinion. As an avid follower of car audio in many different areas, I've heard very little complaining from Audiobahn retailers and consumers alike. I know the company had some problems with their subs for a while but they've all been fixed. It's possible Image purchased some of those older subs, or just purchased inferior ones. I've had some really good AND bad experiences on eBay. You have to be careful, but even sometimes that's not enough.

I would like to know which Audiobahn sub you were using? I have some still working from a while ago. They sound very good (SQ). I have 2 alum12q's in a 1 ft^x2 sealed box. These are run to an Audiobahn 12001dt bridged @ 1.5 ohms. It's still loud and clear and the best part is I can hear every note from 125hz all the way down to 18hz. Maybe you got a bum set, or maybe I got lucky. I also used to have 2 10" version of these and I liked them too!

I have to agree, a bum set is more likely. The quality of ebay's stuff isn't always that great. And there's a reason why Audiobahn doesn't offer warranties like that. Because most of the stuff that is sold outside authorized dealers, is usually junk anyway.

Also, might want to think of how hard you're running them. I have a set of 12" RF punch z's. Notorious for going out within 6 months to a year... I've had mine for almost 3 years now. No problems what so ever out of them. Some have said it is luck. Well I don't think the fact that any speakers I've owned have never broke is luck.

If I ran them like most people do, I'm sure the subs would want to themselves too. Most people push them past there limit, and distort the crap out of them.
