Hi, currentyl I am running my Alpine Hu with my stock Bose speakers and I am getting tired of the poor sound. I hear people swear about the CDT Audio CL-61A 6-1/2" Component System from TheZeb.com Now my question is if I replace the front Bose components with these CDT one's will the sound improve much over stock if I run them with just power from the HU for a while then amp then get a set of CDT coaxials or some other kind in the back.. Will the sound improve much over stock Bose if I run all 6 aspeakers off of HU power? thanks for your time.

yes you will love the upgrade. people rave about them for the price/performance ratio. i have the cl61s's and the cl6x in the rears getting 50 watts per speaker and i think its great. with the h/u they will sound decent also...do the upgrade!

Thanks SLICKRICK for the info.. I have a few more quwstions if you don't mind answering them.....

1) I was looking to replace the fronts with the CDT component set, and get some 6.5" in the rear for rear fill... I currently have an Alpine CDA-9811 which says it pushes 50 watts x 4. My question is how will my Hu power 4 speakers and 2 tweeters if the HU says 50x4???? I plan on running these speakers off my Hu for a while... Do you think the sound will be better than my current setup with Bose speakers???

2) My next question is that I say that the CDT components are know for their bass according to thezeb.com. I was wondering how the highs sound?? Also, I saw the component set with the silk dome tweeters and they have the ones with titanium tweeters.. Aren't the silk tweeters better???
Thanks for all help........

1. i ran my cdt components and coaxials off the h/u for about a year, i liked it. with my old system the highs were hard to hear on certain tracks but overall it was great for h/u power. it will be a substantial upgrade over the bose no question.
2. the bass response is decent. i highly recommend deadening the doors though before amping them. with the h/u power do not expect much bass at all from them, once i amped mine if i turn off the HPF i can make it sound like i have an 8" sub on certain rap songs. i have the silk tweeter and it is laid back. i have mine in the a pillar and the off axis response is fine. the titanium tweeter i "heard" is very good too. imo depending on location would help me decide. if you want your ears to ring get the titaiums, if you want a nice clean sound that will never make your ears fatigue go with the silk. anymore questions feel free to ask because i listen to these things an hour a day.

same thing except different tweeter. same mid, xover just either its a silk or titanium tweet. either setup should be fine and im sure you could return the tweets if you did not like them but i guarantee you will.

lol, you are getting way too caught up on specs. get the titanium set, get the coaxials. you will enjoy the setup thorougly. dont forget you can tweak the setup with your h/u to your liking. just do it!

alright if you dont like the titaniums, send em to me and ill give you my silks and we'll trade. dont worry man you'll like either set. for overall loudness and upper frequency response go with the titaniums. heres the best way i can describe my silks to you... its like the person is singing in your ear, i never get fatigued listening to them. the titaniums will scream in your ear, which is fine too!
