sony Xplod

form looking aroud Im guessing that sony Xplod subs are not that good, (i could be wrong) .... so whats your opinon on them? if you think they are not that good whats better, and in the same price range?

they suck. my friend had a pair in his car. they distort rather easily and the sq is kinda mushy. what's YOUR price range? i'd get an adire audio shiva. they cost $125 each, and have excellent SQ.

whats your budget for subs? id stay away from anything from sony and subs for car audio.

about 300 is my budget ... i have heard good things about adire audio ... where does everyone get them from

acoustic-visions.com, visionaryaudio.com, adireaudio.com. check adires dealer list for a place near you. adire is coming out with alot of new products in the next month, if you can wait im sure its worth it. but even so, shiva is a great sq budget sub that can get loud.

well i wouldn't say a passive radiator is nothing for car audio use, the infinity basslink has one in that compact unit . but yeah, it seems to be a lot more common for home applications.
