indash dvd player advice

On the Market for a good DVD player that I can put in, in place of the flipdown thing in our cars, I dont want to cut the harness so adapter would be needed. I'm looking for a nice quality at a good price want to couple it with a Microvision screen. Also is there a nice unit that I can upgrade to without having to buy new speakers or is the general rule if you are upgrading the Bose stereo unit you have to change and replace out all speakers?

thanks, hope this isnt a repost.

you plan on ever adding a sub?...The reason I say this is because there are two ways to integrate with Bose. You can buy the $50 Scoscoe or Pac adapter, or you can tap straight into the RCA outputs from the head unit, but you will need a head unit with at least two preouts for front and rear. The Pioneer dvh-p5000mp is pretty good for the price but only has two preouts, so it would work, but if you ever plan on adding a sub, get a different unit with three pairs of preouts.

I dont plan on adding a sub I'm satisfied with the Bose as is.

So I could buy the $50 Scosco or a pac adapter (got any links to where I can get it from) and say teh pioneer dvh-p5000mp, and I can still use my Bose speaks the quiality will be close to as good with the stock head unit?

what extra work would be needed to get it to work, I'm not the most knowlegable on installing new head units but want to do this install so that what does it look like I would need to do if I go witht his setup? I get the parts, is there a harness or I have to cut the stock unit? do i need to rewire certain wires?

That was a typo by me in the first reply, its Scosche or Pac adapter

Heres the Scosche http://www.crutchfield.com/S-cdnZudS...51&I=142C4NN03

Peripheral makes a universal one, the VEN4.5, just google that, youll find it

I forget the model of the pac one but its out there too

The answer to your question is yes, with the dvh-p5000mp and this adapter you can get your bose to work close to as well as with the factory deck. You will need no extra parts other than the wiring harness for the car (Metra part number is 7550) and the audio adapter.

great info, that cleared a lot up for me.

that adapter works for most aftermarket dvd HU's? or specifically the pioneer unit?
the pioneer looks very good but sadly a little out of my reach.

Or are most aftermarket Hu's have a 4 speaker level out put so this adapter would work with most units?
