Dynomat

Hey guys. I got 3 Jl audio Dub 3 10" subs in my trunk. The RMS on each of em is around 1600 so im pushin tons of bass outta there. How much did you guys pay for your dynomat if you got some... And where would you reccomend buying it from. Ill take pics of my set up when i can. Right now... its a 7.2" screen hooked to a blaunpunkt dvd/mp3/cd player. I got JL audio speakers all around and 3 Jl audio Dub 3 subs in the trunk. A 2000 watt amp powering the subs and a 480 watt xplod amp powering the speakers.

Or for that matter, your windows?

Please specify the amp thats claiming to give you 2kW...

Because an RMS rating on a speaker says 1600 watts, it doesnt mean your 'pushing' anything. Im also very doubtful that your getting anywhere near 2.5kW from your car.

Rich,Gordon,Chris? Im sure youll chime in soon...

2 Da Max ..I KNOW you will

ok 1st time i read it i thought you had dub7... only call the w7 a "dub" because the w3's are nothin compared to them. anyway rms is around 300 each, not quite the 1600 as described. what size and type of box? i think your question is about dynamat, 20sqft is enough for the trunk lid. what all do you want to dynamat?

Ok so i may not be pushing out 6k watts... But its enough to hear me from around 3 blocks away... Lets put it this way... i put the volume on 1... and you can hear me from bout 400 feet away... The vibrations in the trunk... which i am so sick of hearing... I just want to dynomat the trunk because i think thats the only thing thats gettin vibrated... Anyway, the box is a custom built box, cost around $300. Anywho, my stereo system may not be "total competition" but it still bumps like hell. Teh 7.2" indash screen is pretty sexy too. Thanks for all the posts.

400 feet away on volume 1? to put things into perspective...if your system was on volume 1, i would be able to hear you over a football field away?

anyhow, dynamat or any sound deadener should reduce the rattles.

trunk rattline, ha, i got my front windshield, hood, front license plate, and that piece infront of my sun roof at the top of my windshield to shake with 1 12. Its all about the box man. But you need to turn your gain way way way down. You should be able to crank your stereo all the way up with out it distorting at all.

Im not gonna be doin any competition stuff. I could care less about taking the voume past 3 or 4... I dont wanna lose my hearing already, lol. Anyway tho, i think 20 square feet of dynomat should do it... ill dynomat the trunk and if i find any other places to put it ill put it there. Thanks for all the posts guys.

I thought that was a "little " high for the RMS on w3's. W7 maybe, L7 maybe but definitely not w3. Just got some edead in. replacing the dynamat on the trunk lid cause my stereo guy poorly did it.

with the volume on 3-4 your sony amp gain must be real high to hear such music if your bass is heard 400 feet away on such low volume.
