95 max amp bypass
95 max amp bypass
hey guys, i've replaced my bose head unit with an eclipse head unit. Next i was looking at replacing the speakers front and back. However those damn amps dont make it that easy. So i was looking at taking it to circuit city and they are charging $180. Is this too much or is it a hard job? How do u go about bypassing the amps, does it require rewiring everything? Plz point me in the right direction, thnx.
CC charges 36 per pair to install speakers, plus 10 per speaker to bypass amps. So it should be $112 plus tax. Go back and b!tch at em.
But if you want to DIY (a much better bet) it is pretty easy. There is an individual Bose amp next to each speaker, and there are 4 wires that are inputs to these amps, power, ground, (+) speaker, and (-) speaker. The two speaker wires come straight from the deck. So grab 6 inches of speaker wire or so per speaker, and tap into the speaker wire before it goes into the amp. Connect this to your speakers and youll be good to go.
