What kind of system do you have that this is necessary? Because in most cases, all that isnt necessary, the doors and trunk would help. If you want to go all out and have the money/time, more power to you, because IMO you cant have too much dynomat, but the whole interior might not really be necessary.

look at stuff like SecondSkinAudio.com or Edead. On SeconSkin's website, if you sign up for thier forum and post more than 100 threads or replies, youll get 10 percent off your order! The more you post the more you save! And the Spectrum V3 stuff is said to be the shiznit!!! And BTW, Im preparing to do the same thing, and Im confident in SeconSkinAudio and its a lot cheaper than the Dynacrap.

i just want this to make the inside as quiet as possible, anyways i was thinking of something that doesnt even belong in cars its called iceguard its something they use in roofs of houses, its adhesive on one side and it also has the same thickness and density as dynamat, by the way this stuff is about $70 for a 150sq ft roll

The spectrum V3 is a pretty cool product. a typical car of our size takes about 3-5 gallons of. yes gallons, its kind a "gel" or tacky. You just paint it on and its waterproof and really kills road noise. It also is good to use in the wheel wells where you get a lot of the noise coming from the rear wheels and rear panels.

Dynamat by itself (or any generic version of it) won't do anything to quiet the interior of your car. You'll need a combination of a damping material (like Dynamat) and a barrier that actually blocks noise. There are some companies that make a flexible lead sheet sandwiched between two damping layers but it would be VERY expensive and if I'm not mistaken will add a ton of weight to the car. If you want to reduce interior road noise, buy quieter tires, make sure all the window and door seals are in good condition, and use a noise blocker on your firewall that's specifically made for firewalls. I know, not exactly what you wanted to hear, but it's the truth.

how much weight is added using second skin, say all around your car (doors, trunk, wheel wells, floor, etc.)? i would be interested to know because if it does not add much weight then it would be worth it to do the entire car, at least in my situation with the roadnoise and whatnot.
