I went to Kustom Kar audio(KustomKaraudio.com)here in Boulder, CO which is a very high end installer(one of his cars on the carsound.com website plased first at USAC nationls and placed third in world i think) to see if the could build me a custom box for a twelve in my trunk. After talking for a while, one thing lead to another and he asked me if I ever thought about competing and I said maybe. So he told me if I'd be willing to rep his shop at shows like the usac nationals he'd hook my car up for a small fee. So I agreed. In two weeks he'll begin the install of a nakamichi mb100 6 cd in dash, 3 10" alumapro subs mounted in an enclosure w/ mirrors, lights plexiglass ect., custom kick panels for my 7" focal utopias, a motorized amp racks or something integrated into the car for three or four orion HCCA amps, rear ads coaxils, new alternator, new battery, clifton car alarm w/ remote start and motion sensors. He said he's gonna have to remove the black tension rods for the trunk and alot of the metal on the rear deck for the trunk so he can place all the subs behind the seat. They will be sealed from the trunk and will resonate thru the rear deck somehow into the cabin. Because of the removal of the tension rods, he said he'll probably have to put gas shocks on to open and close the trunk(like on Audis.)I'm going to try and take pictures of the install along the way. You guys gotta see some of his cars, they are amazing. Its gonna be off the hook!!!!

The rear deck is already pretty flimsy and I was trying to filgure out how to strengthen it. . . This might be the way to firm it up, get a custom built box so that it is wedged. . . Congrats though. . . That would be tight. . . Yeah, and how much is this small fee? That is a lot of stuff.

I would say you are still gettting a hell of a deal. . . Seeing as how a sweet installation could effectively cost half that minimum. I am not sure how much all the other stuff would cost, but it seems like you would be paying maybe 1/3 of what is going into your car. Sweet deal.

Sounds like a great deal. The labor alone could run that high on a large install. I would like to see how he hooks up your trunk as I also do not have the stock tension beams installed. I have been planning to put in one or two gas struts but havn't gotten around to it yet. The fact that I have to have a key or a crowbar to get into my trunk this way is one of my insentives not to install the gas strut. It is hard to steal what you can not put your hands on.

I think those alumapro's are worth $350 a piece. Sounds like it'll be a phat system.
