Painting a Sirius Antenna??

Could it be painted without causing any problems? I rather not have that big black bump on my roof when my Max is white. I wanted to paint it but I'm not sure if it's gonna cause a problem with it working. Thanks Joe

You can paint it without problems as long as it does not have metallic flake in the paint. I've heard some that have used the metallic flake paint have had problems but some have not had problems.

I just thought of a way to test if the metallic paint will affect the reception; wrap the antenna with Saran Wrap or the like, then paint the antenna. Try it out and see if it affects your signal. If it does - take the wrap off. I've heard a number of success stories when painting the antenna though.

Just a suggestion... Try using this semi-new paint called Krylon Fusion. (no i don't work for them LOL) It works really well for bonding to plastics. I assume the Sirius antenna is plastic.

I painted my modified ex-Dell computer case with this paint and it looks like the damn thing came colored like this from the factory.

Good luck!
