DLS vs. Eclipse

I'm thinking about getting a new amp to power my MB Quart speakers. Should I go with Eclipse or DLS?

I kinda figured they were high end considering the level of their speakers, but the only thing I ever really hear anything about is their Iridiums. Just never heard or seen anyone running their amps and never heard any reviews of em.

The Iridiums powered by an A-series amplifier are among the most AMAZING things I have ever heard. A wee bit outta my price range. If I were to do my system all over again, I would have gone with DLS brand.

The Ultimate amps are just solid amps, sold for alot of money. Some of their models are quite flexible(down to 1ohm) -which is cool I guess, but for SQ?? doesnt make sense

say what? 1ohm stability?
Nothing wrong with those amps. That kinda of flexibility is not available in many class A/B amps actually. The DLS Ultimate, RF Power, ZAPCO C2K and some older amps ....

I dunno. A high end, expensive A/B amp is simply a waste IMO to run other than at 4ohm or 2ohm minimum. Simply because as you go down in impedance
the amps thd doubles and its damping is cut in half. At 1ohm an amp like that is running no better than any run of the mill amp. I just think spending that kind of money for an amp, from a SQ perspective ,I rather them be getting as clean power as possible. For example , my ZAPCO C2k2.0x amp makes most its power @1ohm, but I much rather take the loss in power and run it at a higher impedance in favor of better speaker control. Also I never buy an amp to fit a subwoofer application- the other way around- i choose the sub or final impedance draw to best suit my amplifiers performance

If looking at those models stick to the higher powered channel one at 4ohm since the thread is based on component power.
