6x9 Fitment probs on 3rd gen

Hey everyone. I just bought a pair of Panasonic TS-A6990Rs for my rears, but when I tried to do the install, they wouldn't fit properly. I checked on Crutchfield and they said that I could use the stock brackets. Anyone have any suggestions? I'll buy brackets from Nissan (if possible).

If you have the Bose system they should fit. If it says active speakers then those will be 6.5in

I have a Bose system in there (or should I say, had). I took out the factory speakers and they're not 6.5s. I guess I'll stop by Nissan next week or something to see if they have a bracket.

Some aftermarket speakers will not fit just right into the original size speaker holes even though they may be the same size speaker. My Focal 6x9's didn't want to slip into my Grand Prix's 6x9 rear deck because the support frame of the Focal's were just slightly larger. So I pulled out the dremel and took a little off of the metal after marking where I needed more room.

yeah, my rear alpine 6.5s didn't line up with the holes either. nothing a metal drill but can't help resolve. like mentioned above, not all speaker mounting brackets are compatible with every make of cars.

can you modify the mounting area a little to make them work?
