Opinions on my system
#1
I have a JVC headunit that I am not changing.
1. I have 6.5" Infinity Kappa Speakers in the front
What components should I get for $150 or less??
Where should I mount the tweeters...in the door or on the dashboard?
2. I have 6.75" Pioneer Speakers in the rear
I was thinking of putting some deep playing midbass speakers there. Opinions?
3. I'm getting 2 12" Infinity Reference Subs, I can't get perfects. I'm paying $150 for both.
Should I get 3 or is 2 good? Has anybody heard these before? A friend told me 2 sounded sweet in a civic.
4. Hollywood Amp-250X2 RMS 500X2 Peak
I was looking into Autotek or Rockford. I don't have lots of cash to spend so I can't go all out. Maybe $175 on the amp.
5. I'm getting a bandpass box and I'm installing neons in the trunk.
Will a bandpass sound good for these subs?

I have a older car(90) so my speaker sizes are different than yours. I have 4X6 Kappas in the front and they are all I can handle. Do you have them on an electronic crossover or just one on your amp? I think they sound as good as anything you can buy. In my rear deck I have 6.5 Kicker free air subwoofers, which specialize in exactly that midbass that you are looking for. The main differences you will get between 10vs 12 is the sound outside of the car and the way you can feel the subs hit in the car. I would say you would definitely need two, and personally I prefer a nice sealed box to get the solid base I like. That is a huge truck too, if your amp is in the trunk might want some kind of fan because I burned up my 1st sub amp because it kept getting to hot back there.

Speakers:
Focal or CDT low end from soundhabit.com can be had for that price. Both are excellent performers.
Subs: DO NOT get the reference infinity's when you can get Nakamichi SPw120 subs for $69 shipped each from carmedia1.com
Those are excellent sounding subs and they retail for $199 each
For the rear: save yourself some money and move the kappas to the back, rear speakers are nowhere near as improtant as the front.
Amp: pick up an orion ampo from ubid. such model as xtr 375 or xtr 500 excellent amps that can be had for $130 for xtr 375 and $175 for xtr 500..they will put out over twice the amount of power than the amp you mentioned....
Box: bandpass box means one note bass, it will be typically loudest though
If you just want to rock the block, but if you want it to sound good, get the Nakamichi subs i mentioned and build a box for them yourself....you won't be sorry i promise...
For more info on sound deadening and stereo installation go to my homepage or email me at sweetsound2001@hotmail.com
Good luck
