Hey Guys Ive been looking between these to different radio choices.

JVC KD-DV5100 : $209.99

OR:

Pioneer DEH-P6700MP: $219.99

What would you pick. Im Leaning towards the JVC a bit more for its DVD capabilites and some other specialties.

I wouldn't buy either of the two. thats just me though. I'd go with Alpine or Eclipse.

Same here...never any JVC car equip, but some of my friends that have weren't that pleased. I owned a pioneer a long time ago, and figured out that there high $ stuff is good, but the lower end models i had problems with. All the Sony's i have had experience with pick up scratches on CDs very bad, tiniest little scratch cause them to skip.

What exactly r u lookin for n a h/u? Maybe if u let us know we could give u some Alpine or Eclipse model #'s that u can look at. Also, wouldn't hurt to give us a price range. I'm runnin a Kenwood Excelon DDx7015, which i would recommend to all Max owners that have a Double DIN opening, but it was $1400, so i guess it may be outta ur price range.

That JVC only has one pair of RCA pre-amp outputs (according to Crutchfield). If you're planning on adding amps, you'll want to go w/the Pioneer. My suggestion- spend another $20 or so and get an Alpine. The 9830 @ Crutchfield is $249 right now, and the bass engine plus is worth it. I've owned Pioneer's, JVC's, Blaupunkts and Alpines all within the last 4 years and my nod for sound quality would go to Alpine. They were all durable and I never had any problems with any of them.
And for my other 2 cents, I'm looking at new stereo's for my Max., and will be going with another Alpine.

My vote goes to JVC simply for its reliability. Mine is over 5 years old and has had no problems as if it were brand new. It came will all the features I needed which were cd changer controls, 2 sets of pre outs, and rotary volume ****. Mine is a KD-sx750 I believe. No complaints, no regrets, next unit for me will be a JVC, if it ever brakes.

Theyre both good performing companies, without any real relaibility issues. Choose the one that suits your needs better..
