8" midbass n doors?
8" midbass n doors?
Has anyone put any 8" midbass woofers n there front doors? I'm getting ready to start researching and shopping around for a new mid/high setup n my car and wanna go all out this time around. I've looked at Rainbow, Focal, CDT, Diamond, MB Quart (which i currently run). Just looking for opinions, and hopefully some pics of a 3-way component set up front. But anyone with pics of 8" n the doors would be nice too. Thanks guys...i'm sure i'll get some help on this.
I havent seen anyone with it yet. I was looking at the Morel WR8, theyre really shallow which i liked, and i heard good things. Ive been debating it for a while now. Heres the site manny sent me with dual mids per side from CA.com

That I30 has got to have some SERIOUS imaging issues, though...
Sorry 8's have been done. I installed a set of 8" Audax woofers in the doors of my max about a year ago. They hammered. (car is totaled now) I had them playing from 100hz down. I can get some pics up if anyone is interested.
It wouldn't be very difficult if you got 8s that have a fairly shallow mounting depth (you'll still need to make spacer rings to move the speaker out) and are made for free-air use. Most 8s used for subs have a larger magnet and basket to deal with, plus most of them require an enclosure, and building a large enclosure in the doors will be a lot of work.

If those can not be veiwed, let me know and I will post them on my car domain site.
Looks awesome plurco. What was ur mid/high setup u were using? And what brand 8s r those. I'm trying to find a 3-way component set with 8s, but haven't found any yet. I know alot of guys on here use RE subs, how r their comp sets? Maybe the XXX ones?

I had an '88 CRX with a single quad coil Concept 18 in it. It was walled off with a 10ft3 box and 4 Concept 2400 watt class D amps. It did a 156 at finals, and placed 3rd.

I realize mine isn't a 4th Gen like yours, 96MaxGLE, but HERE'S the link for my 5th Gen with 8s in the doors. Hope it helps.
