firewall breach HELP!!!

Where the hell do you run the power wire....in to the cabin...i looked at where the clutch should be and i have an alarm system and theres wire for it running through it...but the hole isn't close enough to run a 4awg wire through???

is there any other hole?? or do i have to go out an buy a bigger bit for my drill...

Cuz on my drill you can use 3/8s at max...and unless i measured wrong, its like .5in to feed the 4awg wire through

AHHHHH!!!HELP

hey man i have a 96 and just finished wiring my amp as well. i ran 4g wire though the fire wall by drilling a hole. if you lay on your side and look under the dash to the left of the brake pedal, there is a diamond shaped outline in the insulation. its about 4 inches long and 2 inches across. you need to take a razor blade and cut the outline or just pull it out with some pliers. that exposes bare metal. from there you need to get a centerpunch and punch a hole in the middle of the exposed metal. then drill with a 1/4 inch then a 1/2 inch bit. you'll never be able to get through if you try with the 1/2 right away because of the angle. when you are drilling with the 1/2 inch bit make sure you have a good grip on the drill because it can get halfway into the hole and bite and pull the drill forward. just be careful when drilling. then run your wire through, and then use some silicone sealant or similiar to seal around the hole, it prevents water and other things from getting in as well as protecting the wire from the sharp metal. if you have any other questions let me know, MTH212@aol.com

Go to an audio installation shop. If they are cool, they may spend a few mins and drill the hole for you. Otherwise you can do waht I did and I buy a drill bit for $7 from autozone.

You can definately just drill another hole, but Why in the world do you have those wires going through for the alarm? You should only have 2 small ones...siren positive and negative.

I just ran a 0awg (zero) wire through my firewall and let me tell you... It was a gigantic PITA... I did use one of the stock grommets in the firewall. I was afraid to drill because knowing my luck, I'd drill into something important. The grommet I used was accessable from the drivers wheel well (with the tire removed) I used and Xacto knife to make a slice in the grommet, then push the wire through. I sealed the slice with epoxy so nothing can come in.
