In cabin bass?

I want a little kick but don't want to give up trunk space. Has anyone tried to use the interior space to install some subs. I was thinking about 2 10s.

Some ideas I had were to do a free air in the rear deck, is there a good free air sub? or small boxes under the seats?

Hey I sort of have a different question, but it wont let me create a new post.

I want to fire 2 IDMax subs through the port in the backseats. I was thinking they would be in a \/ shape , with the magnets facing the corners of the trunk, plexi window showing them off.

Does anyone know how this will sound / have any advice or pics of someone else doing this? I can't seem to find another install similar to what I want to do. I would of course be doing everything I could to completely seal it off from the trunk pressurizing the cabin as much as possible.

i think he just wants the back part of the box to be plexi so the magnets can be seen.

I installed 8s into my rear deck in aperiodic enclosures. If you're good with fabrication, you could integrate an 8 or 10 into the center console for good up-front bass.

the odds are good, those little 6.5" subs will sound like..a gerbil beating on a mini bass drum...they'd be fine for midbass, but you'd still need a larger sub to get the low end impact..and those specs seem awfully good for a $45 sub..

Ok, you could go with a good 3-way setup and get AWESOME bass...

I'd recommend:
(1) DLS Iridium 8.3
(2) Alumupro 3-way
(3) Coaxes of your choice in kicks, Adire Audio Extremis 6.8 in doors... x eleventy-billion

Specs are good because you're not paying for the name. You can get really good speakers if you buy direct and don't pay for the name.

I can't swallow a free air resonance of 35 hz with a bottom end response of 35 hz in a 6.5" woofer without calling

those specs are too good to be true

*edit* I should add those specs in a $45 6.5" woofer with a relatively small magnet are too good to be true

I've heard good things about those speakers and especially the 8" versions.

honestly I'd have to be holding one in my hand to judge for sure whether it would be crap or decent..when ordering online, its usually better to get a well known name brand, since you can't hear it first, but in person you can somtimes get cheaper brands by listening to them and judging the SQ yourself...but I'd be leary of $45 speakers with those specs..best way to see if they'd be any good is to find somone who has em and listen to em..

my only defense is its partsexpress...a well known company who might even make those speakers.

I haven't done it yet, but I am planning to. But I am going to try to set up 4 12inch audiobahns in cabin, two front and two back. The only way that I can do this is by building my own fiberglass boxes. I am going to build the back box to fit right in the middle of my backseat and to hold both amps. When I get the materials.

Dude...this is going to sound like total crap unless pure SPL is what you are looking for...not to mention it's going to cost around $1k to deaden the interior correctly.

I have two 10s in an aperiodic enclosure mounted to the rear of the back seats firing into the cabin. I lost virtually no trunk space, but lost the ability to put the seat backs down for loading skis, etc. You could also mount some free air subs similarly with less fabrication hassle. All you would have to do is build a baffle and attach it to the back seats and seal off the trunk. I have some pics on my home page of my trunk setup. Hope they help.
