You can do a remote start... but a lot of installers will have you sign a waiver so if you hit the start, and it was in gear, they would not be responsible for any damage.

As for an alarm... There's so many companies out there. But Viper has been in the business for awhile.

the ONLY alarm I'd put on any car, is one that does NOT get set off by being bumped or somthing loud going past it. you can get a ticket for your alarm going off for more than a few minutes here if there's no obvious attempt to steal the car or somthing inside it..

that being said, if its not factory, imma not gonna use it myself...

If you leave your car in 1st gear by nature, don't think about remote start. That one night you get home late and tired and by instinct it in gear and the E brake off; your going to get a call from the neighbors to get your car from their living room. I have had remote start on my car and cringe every time I start it expecting it to take off. I am an employee for one of the three major communist retailers (Best Buy, Circuit City, HiFi Buys/Tweeters) and it is illegal to have a remote start on a manual tranny unless it is designed for a manual. Clifford tried to make a system but it still malfunctioned. Good luck on finding some one in WTF GET A WAY, FU to hook you up. Even when I was with a MOM and POP shop there was no paper work, only cash in hand and no reciept. The install isn't a problem only your habits when parking. If you are paranoid about keeping it in neutral you might be ok, but the one night to forget some one will be giving you a call in the morning.
Just a thought,
Choray
